A new research project aims to publish the first Oxford Dictionary of African American English.
LEXICON
The new dictionary, to be produced in three years, will give a historical background to the lexicon of African American English.
A lexicon is a group of words used by a person, people, or that is connected to an individual subject. The VOA Learning English lexicon can be explored in our Word Book at learningenglish.voanews.com. At the bottom of the screen, click on “Learning English Word Book.”
